Sharon Gydesen, VCHS Hospice volunteer, earns statewide recognition

Sharon Gydesen of Ord, Neb., a volunteer for Valley County Health System (VCHS) Hospice, was honored as an exemplary volunteer at the annual Nebraska Hospice and Palliative Care Association (NHPCA) banquet on March 20 in Lincoln, Neb. Each year, NHPCA recognizes volunteers who provided outstanding volunteer services during the previous year at a Nebraska hospice agency.

“Sharon has been an active volunteer for VCHS Hospice since 2011. She has dedicated countless hours and time to serve our patients and provided over 100 visits for 2023”, VCHS Hospice Volunteer Coordinator Joey Cadek said. “She is always willing to take on more when needed and goes above and beyond. She takes pride in her work and is a true testament to what a Hospice volunteer means to our program.

Sharon is one of dozens of VCHS Hospice volunteers who have donated countless hours to volunteering with the Hospice program.
